“The best feeling in the world is seeing the benefits and rewards of hard work.” – Kevin Hart
Have you experienced the feeling of being rewarded for your efforts and reminded to get better at it at the same time?
Looking at hard work paying off is truly the most rewarding experience in a person’s life, more so, when your hard work is put into something that you’re passionate about, when your driven to create change and when you work for the greater good.
Our founder Mr. Shiva Jayagopal recently was awarded the Distinguished Alumnus Award for Excellence in Service to the Society for the year 2020 by National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli in recognition of his contributions to humankind by working towards enabling an inclusive society.
Recognitions and tokens of appreciation such as these are not just proud moments for all of us, but also a great reminder of the work we do and helps reaffirm why we do what we are doing. It pushes us to do better, to fight harder for what we believe in and strive to reach our mission.
Read on to know what the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli said about Mr. Shiva Jayagopal and WinVinaya Foundation:
“Greetings from NITTSAC!
In our next feature of ZeNITTh, we take immense pleasure in introducing Mr Sivasankar Jayagopal, Founder & Chairman of WinVinaya Foundation, Bangalore and Founder & Director of WinVinaya InfoSystems India Pvt. Ltd. Sivasankar Jayagopal graduated from the erstwhile Regional Engineering College Tiruchirappalli (now known as National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli) with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering in 1991. He is known for training people with disabilities in
Software Development and Banking Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) skills and finding employment opportunities for them since 2016.
Since the probability of campus placements for people with disabilities is dismally low, WinVinaya Foundation has been partnering with inclusive colleges and corporates so that they can be trained in industry-leading skills through WinVinaya Academy. This will ensure that even those from the disabled community can be independent, attain a good job and lead a life of dignity that they very much deserve.
Sivasankar, through WinVinaya Foundation, has successfully trained more than 400 people with disabilities in numerous industrial skills, including data visualization using Power Bl, Power Automate, Full Stack Development and many more.
He was instrumental in designing a holistic curriculum aligned to industrial needs, customizing courses in sign language that caters to people from both English medium and other regional language mediums to ensure that no person with any disability feels left out.
As students of NITT, we feel honored to be a part of an institution that has yielded such an inspirational and kind-hearted alumnus. We further thank Sivasankar sir for helping the disabled community realize the quote, “Where there is a will, there is a way!”
In recognition of his splendid contributions to the service of humankind in creating an equal and inclusive world, the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, conferred him with the Distinguished Alumnus Award for Excellence in Service to the Society for the year 2020.
