“Celebrating Abilities”

“I think what we owe each other is a celebration of life and to replace fear and hopelessness with fearlessness and joy”

                                                                                                                            Vandana Shiva

Creating a better world takes a whole lot of celebrating each other in every way. Focusing on and celebrating each other’s abilities and capabilities has the power to ignite the light of change and empower every soul to reach for the stars.

Dec 3rd is International Day of Persons with Disabilities.  This month, we celebrated WinVinaya Utsav by conducting free Disability Sensitization workshops to various corporates to bust the myths and to challenge the stereotypes of what PwDs can or cannot do. It was an eye opener for the 450+ participants, who learnt the right way to address PWDs, abilities of PWDs, role models and enjoyed the demo of screen readers which helps persons with visual impairment and an introduction to Indian Sign Language.

We believe this will help increase the diversity & inclusion quotient of the corporates in becoming more aware of the capabilities of PWDs and enable them to recruit PWDs in their workplace.

Do take a look at a few photos from the sensitization sessions.  If you are interested in knowing more about the disability sensitization workshops, please reach out to us at info@WinVinayaFoundation.org
