Parent’s Day
“Behind every young child who believes in himself is a parent who believed first”.
– Matthew Jacobson
Each kid is unique. Raising a kid is an enriching and challenging experience for parents. Parents expect their children to succeed and move ahead in life. It isn’t easy to watch them fumble and stumble. But sometimes that’s what it takes to help them become more confident, capable, and independent. Parents have supported and continue to support their children in each of their endeavors, appreciating and enjoying their successes & milestones, and sitting down with each other in their sorrows, and ultimately, loving and nurturing them to become the bright stars they are today.
Fourth Sunday of July every year, we celebrate Parents’ Day in India. It is a day to remind us all, about the love, care, compassion, and sacrifices of all our parents. It is a day to celebrate the efforts of parents in nurturing their children.
This Parents Day, we at WinVinaya Foundation celebrated the Unsung Heroes who believed in their kids, crossed multiple hurdles, made sure to be there for them when they needed a shoulder to lean on and guide them to be more than what they thought they can be.
The parents came together and shared with us the many trials and tribulations they had faced in their journey through parenthood and how they navigated through them. It was made clear to us that the lived experience of each parent, just like the children, are unique; but they all share the same unapologetic love for their children.
Here are a few moments from the day.
